Ms. Yu Hui graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from the Chinese Department of Northeast Normal University (NENU). She brings extensive insider knowledge, having spent many years teaching Higher Chinese and serving as a PSLE Oral Examiner and Composition/Paper Marker. This experience ensures complete familiarity with the PSLE examination process and requirements.

Mr. Jia Liming graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from the Chinese Department of Northeast Normal University. He previously served as a Chinese language teacher in local government primary and secondary schools.

Mr. Jia is a firm advocate for Holistic Education, seamlessly integrating broader subjects like philosophy and history into his Chinese teaching. He specializes in igniting the child’s passion and unique brilliance, helping students find genuine joy and lasting confidence in their learning journey through appreciation and continuous encouragement.

- His book, The Grandfather and Grandmother (《外公和外婆》), won the Best Cover Award at the 2017 Singapore Readers’ Choice Awards.
- His works, No, Mama; No Problem, Papa (2018) and The First Time to Pack Food from a Hawker Centre (2019), were both shortlisted for the Singapore Readers’ Choice Awards.

- Shared expertise on “Promoting Mother Tongue Reading in a Bilingual Environment” at the 6th Mother Tongue Forum.

Learning a new language is a journey, and every attempt, including small mistakes, is a valuable part of the learning process. These moments help children deepen their understanding, strengthen their communication skills, and build confidence along the way.
Patience and encouragement are especially important during this journey. I believe the classroom should be a safe and supportive space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves, taking risks, and exploring new ideas. Every effort they make is a step forward, and every step deserves to be recognised and celebrated.

I believe that each child possesses strengths and potential that are entirely their own. Every child shines in a different way, and it is my privilege to recognise, appreciate, and celebrate that uniqueness.
I believe that every child grows and blossoms at their own pace. As educators, our role is not to rush the journey, but to walk alongside them with patience, understanding, and a gentle heart.
What I did not realise at first was that while I was helping children grow, they were also teaching and inspiring me every day. Their smiles are pure, their hearts are sincere, and their joy is wonderfully simple. Even their frustrations and sadness are honest and genuine, reminding me of the beauty of being true to oneself. In so many quiet ways, they brighten my days and touch my life.

文学的本质在于包容和容纳,可以告知学生都不需要害怕犯错,但需要懂得在犯错后警惕自己,并懂得容纳和自己不同的那些,未来成为同理和关怀社会的人。
